The Owl
Named for the wealthy Roman baker, Marcus Virgilio Eurisace, the owl is our spirit animal, our protector, our mystical totem. Marcus represents the dark magic we practice as alchemists of dough. Ancient cultures believed the animal to be a messenger from the underworld, a harbinger of grim fates, but revered the creature’s power and mystery. A nocturnal hunter, a symbol of both wisdom and disobedience, the owl represents the Sixteen Bricks ethos: dark lords of an ancient craft, creators of deviously delicious bread.
